"Modified Invasion "
Friday & Saturday 4th & 5th April 2014

The spectacular V8 Modified’s are once again the feature class for our last show of the season. A class field of drivers have entered this weekend’s Christchurch Glass Modified Invasion lead by New Zealand Champion Luke Keegan. However tough competition is expected to come from the inform 2NZ Mike Gourley. Fresh back from a North Island tour Gourley won the prestigious Modified Super Dirt Cup at Auckland’s Waikaraka Park which he then followed up with a second placing in the North Island Championship at the same venue. Modified series leader and Wellingtonian Blair McPhee is also expected to star at this event as are club mates Jonas England, Michael Burt, Paul Hodson and Brian McPhee. Cromwell’s Jason Scott also returns to the Glen for the last time this season where he almost secured third place at the New Zealand Modified title earlier in the year. Scott and Christchurch’s Hayden McKay had the fans on their feet in a thrilling run off that was eventually won by McKay. Supporting the Modified Invasion will come from SuperStocks, A-Grade Saloons, Ministocks and Production Saloons on Friday night whilst SuperStocks, Super Saloons, Streetstocks and Stockcars race on the Saturday night. Stockcar fans are also in for a treat on Saturday night when the Tasman Thunder Stockcar team of Nelson hit town to take on the Canterbury Crushers in a team’s race for the Martin/Dumelow Cup.
