“Woodford Glen Speedway & Blakely Construction present...
The 2014 Canterbury Stockcar & Streetstock Championships”

Canterbury championship bragging rights are up for grabs this weekend for the Stockcar and Streetstock classes. Contact fans will be in for a treat with large numbers expected to turn out in both classes. Unfortunately defending Canterbury Stockcar Champion Dennis Andreassend won’t be racing however Streetstock Champion Tom Earnshaw has his eyes set on winning again. Newly crowned New Zealand Streetstock champion Paul Simon of Dunedin has entered this year’s event in his super fast Toyota Soarer V8 and is a past winner of this title. Woodford Glen’s 2NZ Steve Peterson will also be another to keep an eye on heading in to this title after a great showing at the recent New Zealand Champs at Nelson.
South Island Stockcar Champion Jamie Hamilton is another notable omission from the Canterbury champs as he has decided to concentrate on his SuperStock racing. At the time of writing we can’t confirm if any visitors will be racing as car numbers are high in this class and Woodford Glen drivers have first call in this championship. SuperStock numbers will receive a boost this Saturday with confirmation that Nelson’s Shane Harwood, Jared Gray and Trevor Lineham will be making the trip South for some track time.
