Easter weekend at Woodford Glen Season Finale
Christchurch Glass Modified Invasion plus Ramp Race Demo Derby!Friday Night Results
The spectacular V8 Modified’s are the feature class for the last show of the season at AmPro Tools Woodford Glen Speedway. Once again the action starts Good Friday and concludes with the crowd pleasing ramp race demolition derby on Easter Saturday. A class field of twenty four drivers are confirmed to hit the track for the 2015, Christchurch Glass Modified Invasion in what is the largest field of Modifieds this race season at the Glen. Leading the entry list is current (and three times) New Zealand Champion Luke Keegan. However tough competition is expected to come from the inform 3NZ of Hayden McKay and south island champion Mike Gourley. Wellingtonian Blair McPhee is also expected to star at this event as are club mates Jonas England and Michael Burt. Past New Zealand champion Richard ‘Bunter’ Pierce of Taranaki is a welcome entry to this year’s invasion and will no doubt push hard to win this championship. Pierce is one of few drivers to have one a New Zealand Championship in more than one class with his first coming in a Super Saloon back in 2005 at Blenheim. He then went on to win the New Zealand Modified Championship in 2012 and join an elite group of drivers to do so. Greymouth drivers Steve Thompson, Iain Whyte and Brandon Parkinson will also be keen to impress with all three drivers showing great form at Woodford Glen this season.
All eight of Woodford Glen’s classes will star over the two nights of racing with Super Saloons, SuperStocks, Stockcars, Ministocks and Production Saloons racing Good Friday whilst the Streetstock and A-Grade/Saloon classes feature with Super Saloons, Stockcars and of course the mighty V8 Modifieds on Saturday night.
