Christchurch Glass Easter Extravaganza – Modified Invasion, SuperStock Gold Rush & Ramp Race Demolition Derby!
This Easter weekend, AmPro Tools Woodford Glen is the place to be for speedway fans thanks to Christchurch Glass. Check out the entry lists below for the Annual Christchurch Glass Modified Invasion and the all new Blakely Construction SuperStock Gold Rush! Whilst local fans are used to names such as Hayden McKay, Mike Gourley and Garry Lennon as entrants in the Modified Invasion, this year’s show features some very exciting talent led by New Zealand champion Steve Thompson of Greymouth. Thompson is also the South Island Champion and has been in hot form this season. However the North Island are sending down some lead foots in Brian McPhee and the very fast Brad Lane of Auckland. Lane is the son of the legendary Scott ‘Rocket’ Lane and won’t be coming down to make up the numbers. V8 fans are in for a treat and it keeps getting better with the SuperStock Gold Rush entry list being bolstered by 5 time New Zealand Stockcar Champ and past New Zealand SuperStock Champion Peter Rees of Palmerston North. Although resident of Palmerston North, Rees is now doing his racing out of Gisborne Speedway along his sons Asher & Ethan Rees who are also making the trek South in an effort to win the Gold Rush. Asher is well on his way to forging his own name in to the record books and has already won his first New Zealand Stockcar Championship. However all three Rees are putting their efforts in to SuperStock racing and only Peter has ever raced at Woodford Glen. Dave Hughes of Wellington is another heading down for the Gold Rush and is another welcome addition to the entry list after racing for the Go Fast Glen Eagles at the Palmerston North Teams Champs. Will the likes of Hamilton, Ngatai and Clive keep the ‘Gold’ in the South or will it end up on the other side of the Cook Strait? Make sure you are trackside this Good Friday and Easter Saturday and don’t miss this show! 6PM start both nights and don’t forget finishing the weekend off in style is the Annual Christchurch Glass Ramp Race Demolition Derby. Adults just $20, Family Pass for 2 adults and 4 children is only $40, Seniors $10 and as always under 5yrs are Free!Modified Invasion Entrants:
