The Ministock Championship became a battle between seasoned campaigners 10c Bob Roper and 18c Nick Sidaway plus defending champion 65gm Glen Redmond and Newcomer to the "adult" class 33c Jono Garthley.
Redmond chose the cautious approach in Heat 1 and managed a 3rd placing from his midfield grid but the big mover was newcomer Garthley who pressed on for 2nd place. Heat 2 saw these two drivers finish 2nd & 3rd respectively which meant an interesting final heat would decide the champion. Quietly carrying out their duties were Roper and Sidaway who amassed points to ensure they were both in for a chance. However the final heat was decided with the help of the referee when Garthley was excluded from the race. Redmond failed to pass enough cars which left Roper a clear Champion on 85 points. Redmond & Sidaway ended tied on 82 points and after count back Redmond was deemed 2nd with Sidaway 3rd overall.

In the support races the A Grade Saloons provided the most entertainment when they were unofficially dubbed the "A Grade Stocks" by the commentator. This class produced T-bone action and even a roll-over and this was with only six cars on the track!

The Superstocks and Stockcars were combined and this produced some interesting hits (and misses) but my DON Award (driver of the night (even though it was daytime)) has to go to Michael Pickens. Racing in the Super Saloons, this guy is just on the case and within one lap was taking it to the locals and this netted him four wins from four starts. (awesome stuff to watch so bring on the Champion of Champions meeting!)
