Tonights Champion of Champions meeting had a wealth of experience and talent on display in some of the best cars the country has to offer. Both of the major drawcards had problems throughout the evening with Michael Pickens suffering a puncture during his first heat. Steve Williams also suffered panel damage during a three car altercation but still managed to complete all his heats albeit out of the top placings.
81m Dean Waddell showed some serious pace early on and another driver to shine was 121 Donald Gregory. Both of the Boulton cars produced wins and 261e Dave McCallion showed just how well he can pedal the big Ford Falcon. However the only repeat winner tonight was 11n Ian Burson with his brilliant paintwork.

Overnight joint points leaders are Waddell and Burson tied on 28pts. McCallion holds 3rd only 3 points behind on 25. The emaining heats and the crucial final are still to come and it promises to be a meeting not to miss.
