Modified Championship. 84c Natasha Rodgers continued to prove that she has the pace to outrun and even outclass some of the fastest teams in the business but yet again luck was not on her side as in the final lap of the third heat her car slowed due to clutch problems. This allowed 3nz Cliff Frost and 4c Mike Gourley through to take the race honours. The final points were close however with Frost on 27 showing he definately deserves the 3nz his car now carries and last years Canterbury Champion Gourley was only 2 points behind on 25. Rodgers did however take the final spot on the podium only 1 point arrears on 24.
Support Races. The Streetstocks turned out in force and put on an excellent show with some fast driving and numerous spins. The Ministocks provided plenty of contact including a rollover on the back straight. The Superstocks were back with a vengence and of the 22 starters there were 14 stranded to the infield before the first race finished. It appears there are some scores to be settled in this class before the season ends. The Production Saloons provided plenty of action for the race fans but lots of repair work for the panel beaters. Jo Giles from CTV was very pleased after surviving the carnage and winning her very first race at Woodford Glen. The Super & A Grade Saloons raced together and it appears there is very little seperating the two classes especially the faster A Grade cars. The Kiwi Auto Spares Kamikaze Derby drew a large entry list and a huge crowd with it. Rob Grey emerged from the twisted metal which was once someones pride & joy to claim the $1000 purse but not before seriously rearranging his and plenty of other cars along the way.
