The Saloon Series between Blenheim, Nelson & Christchurch hotted up tonight with a few battle scarred and damaged vehicles emerging throughout the evening. But the most spectacular incident was the huge crash and end for end roll of Dennis Bolt's 6c Monaro. This happened while Dennis had a convincing lead and was negotiating a back marker in the 20 lap feature. A lot of people were concerned for Dennis but he emerged relatively unscathed from the car which is testament to the way the team have built it. The car however was definately looking considerably worse for wear.

The Superstock Best Pairs was an excellent opportunity as a build up for the annual Battle of the Stocks. The winning combination of 89c Andrew Good & double Otago Superstock Champion 18c Jeremy Maxwell proved too competitive for their opponents on the night.
