Modified Invasion Easter Meeting

After having to cancel saturday nights meeting due to heavy rainfall the event was held entirely on the sunday night. The arrival of some of the fastest cars in the country however was definately not going to dampen any interest in the event. 84c Natasha Rodgers was one of the early victims when her car spewed a rather large content of fluid underneath it. Another local favourite to do well this weekend, 4c Mike Gourley also tumbled out of contention with a big roll-over. Two of the biggest movers in the pack came all the way from Auckland's Waikaraka Park Speedway. They were current 3nz Jamie Fox & 6a Brian Jesen. These two did some hard charging along with the likes of Lane, Blakeley, McPhee etc but just couldn't quite match the pace set by local hotshoe 29c Glen Leech. Leech made it look easy whether starting at the front or down the grid. The pace was hot and the 25 lap final (after the first lap restart) ran free of any caution flags.
Final placings 1st Leech, 2nd Fox, 3rd Jesen.

The Super Saloons also produced a big roll-over, this time the 444c Pontiac of Kevin Huddlestone being the car to be towed away requiring major repair work. The highlight of this class tonight was 1nz Brent Emmerson piloting the 17c Mustang. His wheel lifting aggressive "back-it-in" style was very impressive to watch.

The usual final meeting "butchers picnic mayhem" ensued for the Streetstock class which proved most popular with the crowd and even some of the Production Saloons succumbed to a similar fate leaving the track in several pieces and requiring plenty of cosmetic surgery.

Note: Electronic Lap Scoring (ELS) data can now be viewed where available.
This data may differ from the posted results due to driver changes, relegations, protests etc.
